Meet Michelle Oliveira, Marketer, Willowdale Community Leader, Co-Founder, shopwillowdale

Michelle Oliveira is a busy lady! She is a marketing consultant who runs which helps businesses create marketing strategies and/or run their marketing departments. She also specializes in creating LinkedIn profiles and trains people on the effective use of LinkedIn.

Most recently, during Wave One of the pandemic, she co-founded SewForTO. This powerful group of over 200 volunteers supplied over 26,000 non-PPE masks, scrub caps and ear savers in just three months for frontline workers. She then gathered a group of sewists from the Toronto to produce and sell locally-made reusable masks, Smile Accessible Clear Window masks, scrub caps and other mask accessories.

Michelle is also deeply involved in her community and is a Founding Member of the West Willowdale Neighbourhood Association. She was actively involved with WeLoveWillowdale and the Yonge Street Tragedy Commemoration and is currently is a Parent Council Member at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. She continues to cherish her time teaching Children's Liturgy with her teenage daughter Ella at St. Gabriel's Church.

Passionate about 'Mother Earth', she and her husband Kirk, built an ‘eco-home’ in 2011. Their blog details their green journey, starting in July 2007 as well as the media coverage generated as Michelle tried to repurpose their house in 2009; as she ran a successful community geothermal drilling event in May 2010 and then worked with LEAF for a successful tree planting event in May 2011 which was featured in two newspapers and on CTV news.
